FFXIclopedia Exclusive: DRG Nyzul Isle Relic

Each of the premiere sites that attending the summit this year has been assigned a new Nyzul Isle relic weapon to report on. FFXIclopedia was assigned the Dragoon weapon named Ryunohige. The weapon statistics we were given are not finalized and may change before it's release. We were fortunate enough to even give these new weapons and their associated weapon skills a test drive on the Atomos server. We even got to try this new weapon out before the Square Enix QA team got their hands on it. This is raw info right from the devs.

Enhances Jump effect, cool right? There's a little more to that effect than meets the eye. It looks like it turns your Jumps into automatic crits! Finally a little love the DRGs. Next you see "Aftermath". What's that all about you say? Well, when you perform the new weapon skill with the new relic weapon, you get the Aftermath effect. Allow me to mention that the new weaponskills are not bound to the new weapons. In fact, once you learn the new weaponskill you can use it with any weapon of that class - even a level 1 weapon (this does not mean you can use it at level 1, but you can use it with a level 1 weapon). Also.... and this is big news... the new weaponskills will be obtainable without upgrading a Nyzul Isle relic weapon, however you will still need the weapon to quest the new weapon skill - it does not need to be upgraded, which is somewhat different from how the Dynamis relic weaponskills work. Whoa, I know. So here's what the new weapon and the new weaponskill look like:

Now, if you want to check out the other Nyzul Isle relic weapons that we learned about at the summit, you'll have to check out the other premiere sites to see their assigned weapons. Here is who got what. I will update this post to link directly to them as they update their sites:

Isn't that animation already used? I'm almost certain...I could be wrong.

Now the whole "not having to upgrade to use the WS" thing sure sounds nice, now they just gotta remove the whole Alexendrite requirement and we're in business.

Otherwise looks decent, though that damage could use a boost, depending on what kind of "attack boost" we're talking about here.

I could care less about the damage. I'm very interested in the fact that they finally realized that tying a WS to a weapon (save relic weapons) was stupid. Also what's the WS name? Or it's still under wraps?

So, if what I'm reading is right -- the "Aftermath: Increases Acc./Atk" part means that when you use it /with that weapon/ it increases Acc/Atk? But you get it normally otherwise?

Basically, I believe it is a status effect, though I am not 100% certain.

Aftermath is an effect that you gain after the weaponskill is used. So it sounds like a status effect to me too. We only had a brief time to play with the weaponskills and weapons. I'll look back at my data again and see what if I can find something more specific - I wrote that at about 4:30am (my time) so my brain wasn't all there - still isn't now that I woke up either ><; The animation for this WS has not been used before, however, I believe it is in the dat files or was at one time, and people did some dat swapping and used other weaponskills to see the animations with the new weapons equipped ahead of time.

As for the Alexandrite requirement - check our overall Summit review when we finish our write up - there will be changes!

Ok, looking back at the video (when it got put on youtube the quality went down the tubes.. no pun intended :P), after using the weaponskill with the weapon equipped, you get a brand new status icon. It's a blue circle for the aftermath effect. This is present for the entire duration of the video I posted here, but in the data that I collected from the first time I used the WS, the status effect appears right after the weaponskill is used.

Hopefully the weapon skill isn't a pain to get, too. :)

I'm doing Nzyul now with dedicated friends and we're all planning on the relic weapons. Love how Ryunohige seems to make Valkyrie's Fork moot. XD Oh well!

I dunno about you but getting the Phase 1 Nyzul Relic to drop is a pain, especially if you've committed at least 100 hours getting people down there.

You don't need the weapon to obtain the WS, that is the whole point as I understood it.

Getting a weapon is a pain... or maybe it looks like a pain to me because I don't really enjoy Nyzul Isle, where very often luck counts more than skill and I can't stand that. Doing 100th floor 6 times for all the 6 members of your static, and keep your fingers crossed hoping those who get a weapon won't disappear destroying your static... It's just very hard and frustrating, just the thought of it scares me.
Not to count weapon drop is random (unless it's the second time you're getting to 100th floor while being discholder...)
