Bummed because you weren't selected to be a FINAL FANTASY XIV alpha participant? Fear not! After navigating the seedy back alleys of Jeuno we have pulled some strings with the moogles down at the M.H.M.U. and they have agreed to squeeze some of our community members in! All the M.H.M.U. requires is your Square Enix Account's email address and region in order to reconsider your application!

But don't delay, this opportunity is only open for a limited time, and the recruitment will close on March 7th, 2010 at 11:59pm PST!

Well, it is a bit confusing, but the page looks at least real. Maybe a benefit from being a premium site?

ZAM has it too, at least. So I'm assuming it's official. ;3

Or they're ALL trying to pull wool over our eyes.

I saw that ZAM had a similar registration page, so I would think this is an official entry as a community site for FFXIV. I'm really glad to see that Square Enix heard everyone's complaints on how few people were selected for the Alpha/Beta testing. It's nice that they are giving FFXI players priority.

Don't worry - this is not a scam! It is a special opportunity for FFXI players to get in to the beta test for FFXIV early. We have been working with Square Enix for a few weeks on this - good luck to everyone! The application over at Zam is for the same event. Both sites will be submitting lists of applications when the event ends on Sunday night (or Monday morning - depending where you live I guess).

One thing I'm wondering: First off, is entering at both places pointless? Second... am I eligible?

Hmmm I cant say if it's pointless to register in both places or not. There are only so many invites to give out. As for eligibility - I didn't see any rule saying you weren't Urth.

Really the only info we give is our email address that our SE ID is tied to. You must already have registered for the beta. There really isn't any way for one to get your SE ID and PASSWORD from just your email. Unless they have access to your email aswell.

What will happen is a list of users will be sent to SE. They will go over the email addresses and randomly pick some of them to send invites too. The list maybe shorted by Ganiman.

Does this mean we will receive an e-mail within a week of being accepted?

I cant say exactly when emails might go out from this, but I think it's safe to assume before the 11th. Don't shoot me if I'm wrong.. I'm not SE and can't control it. I am sure people will start posting (again) if they start to get them.
