ZNM Drops Rates

how do you feel about the znm drops? we did a run on Chigre last night had 7 pops items only came away with 1 blood ring and 2 insect rings. which fell on just 2 fights. we did a cheese hoarder run with 2 pop items came away with nothing! so far I'm not that happy with the drop rate for all the trouble you go through to get the pts. SE should adjust the drop rate to hold your interest in this event really going to be bad when you get up to a tier 3 or 4 and come away with nothing.

Everything I've read points to pretty reasonable droprates overall.

I think the way of acquiring points is far more annoying than the drop rates that seem decent to me 8P

i've not seen horrible drop rates imo. we did experimental lamia (ugh that's a fun fight with 9), and saw an earth grip + the staff. i've not noticed 100% drops for the puk tier 1 nm but it doesn't seem too bad to get znm points if you've got a job capable of soloing DCs @75.

best way to go about this is probably to have a mule, and spend 1-2 days a month farming every mob type and sending plates to that mule for when that mob is requested. not enough skill up parties want to fight stuff like chigoes/wamoura.

I agree. To me it just seems like a way to make people use the failed Pankration garbage.

to answer the question though ... i did the Chigre fight about x10 in a row a week or so ago. Given that i'm thief we had drops of one ring or another and sometimes both almost every fight. Only once did we not get either ring to drop

Pankration is awesome and because of SE using it for ZNMs more people have given it a try. I know a few people that are now pankration addicts!

Yes, the community complained ALOT about the NM system.

Well the point of the ZNM's as i understand them is to allow casual players the opportunity to fight NM's and get a chance at decent gear without having to camp something for 15-30hours because they have a life. In other words allowing the casual players a wider palette of activities to chose from. Given that ZNM's now come with their own convoluted points system, it negates this intent by requiring the players to work on obtaining zeni points which of course can only be used to obtain these pop items nothing more (that's the garbage part our friend is referring to up above).

So now instead of a wider palette it's reduced to picking which treadmill system you want to get on and hasn't really given anything substantive to the casual players in the way of wider choices. So indeed with dwindling populations on servers (I've now seen titan fall below 1k several times with about an avg of 1.5k down from the avg 2.5-3k it use to have on avg a year ago), SE in their infinite brilliance thought that making such a system would really be a boon for their more casual customers (that they've ignored for so long)..??

It's simply the case that players will tolerate this kind of bs from SE at the start because it's new and they're curious. Once that's gone it will go the way of the chocobo. You know someone into Pankration? Great I knew dozens into choco raising at some point too but where are they now? This will undoubtably be the same after 3-6months.
