Mannequin parts - Head, Hands, Body

Postby IrmaVep on Mon Feb 19, 2007 12:42 pm

I've been readinG the wiki entries for these and have read some of the guides and would like someones opinion

100% head drop from Shooting Fish
ok - this one is really easy - i've done this a few time.
solo as a sum with Ramuh and 2h

100% body drop from Crustacean Conundrum
Now there are various tips for this.
The one I like most is 3x mnk/war. Run in and whoever's orb it is takes the big crab and 2h+combos it then helps the others.

Any thoughts on this?

100% hands drop from Charming Trio
Details a bit schetchy here but I was going to go with 3x drg/whm.
Each pick a leach then when engaged swap targets to Pepper > Prune > Phoedme. Spamming double thrust and dia whenever possible/needed.

Different way to do I grant you but i've had a touch of success with this set up (royal jellies springs to mind)

Anyway what are people thoughts and experiences on this?

Nope :) Right thread. Granted this is for the Its Raining Mannequine quest but the 3 parts I'm missing are all from BCNM20s

Just wanted to know if anyone has done them or has any further words of wisdom from their experiences.

I use 3x SMNs on Leeches and Fish ... for easy wins.

On Leeches, also done:
PLD, SMN, WHM ...

PLD provokes and tanks, WHM heals.
PLD uses 2HR almost immediately, THEN SMN uses 2HR ... 3 shots later ... done.

On Crabs:
RDM/NIN x2, NIN/WAR

RDMs use Enthunder and duel wield low delay daggers
RDM1 casts bind on right crab
NIN provokes big crab
RDM2 casts silence on big crab
All three attack left crab
When left crab dies, all three attack right crab
When right crab dies, all three attack big crab
Recast Bind and Silence and Enthunder as necessary

Ok, the best setup I have seen for the Crustaceon Conundrum is 3 RDM/NIN with ehthunder up. Makes it a piece of cake. Low delay daggers are best (platoon comes to mind). Evasion Gear like Bone +1 also is a plus. As long as you have two RDM/NIN the other job can be just about anything, but to be certain of a win, RDM of some kind is good. In this setup, essentialy the additional damage from the enthunder kills the crabs.

Charming Trio I have done a bunch of times. It may be the easiest BCNM20 there is. Usually I go with DRG WAR and WHM. The WAR and the DRG should each have up to 5 Hi-Pots with them and a decent Au Lait. At the start of the fight Agree on an order for fighting the leeches. WAR and DRG go after the first one. When it is dead, attack the next one tha was agreed upon. Then the last one. Use Hi-Pots as necessary. WHM cures as you go. These guys don't hit particularly hard. The only gotchas are you need to watch out for your auto-target so as not to pick up the wrong one next. And keep an eye on the WHM so they don't pick up hate (I went WHM and had this happen very few times). Oh and on one run of the Trio, we had both the Head and the Hands fall. So the hands are a 100% drop, but the head can drop too.

How feasable is simply doing Garrisons for these parts? I'm kind of curious now...

I've never been too inclined to finish collecting them all, myself. I believe I have the feet and the legs stored away.

You only get Legs and Feet from Garrison. They drop fairly commonly from Garrison. You need to do the BCNMs to get the parts listed above.

You don't have to win garrison to get the legs or feet, they drop during the fighting from the waves of beastmen, and fairly often at that.

Shooting Fish can be soloed by a SMN using Ramuh, but for safety I take 2.

Charming Trio was my ls's primary source of income back in the golden days when you could sell the Mann Hands for 1.5-2M. Sadly, those days are very gone... I agree with the drg-war-whm setup, but I will add a few notes that will give you a lil more survivability:

-whm/smn is a good call, carby provides a little DoT and additional healing support. With a Yag drink, the upkeep doesn't impact your mp overmuch.

-Have the war provoke the big leech going in, and the other two will link on them. The Drg will rapidly take hate away from the war anyway, and then you end up with very manageable rate of damage inflicted on both. If you don't touch the links, they'll stay on the war no matter what.

-No food or buffs for the front line jobs. None, not even protect or an au lait. The leeches will just steal it, and then you've buffed them. Congratulations. Have the melees each buy Hi-Pots for themselves(I like having 3 going into a run) and a Hi-Ether for the whm instead.

Your mileage may vary. I will admit that we ran with ideal race/job combos(mithra drg, galka war, taru whm) and great gear(my drg20 setup is almost the best gil can buy), but using this technique we never lost, and made it out without 2hrs or death the vast majority of the time.

People who like smn burns should go find another game. It's obvious they're not really interested in playing this one.
