I made the most DMG but...

A few minutes ago we did a JoL. i was in a pt with 2 other RNGs and i parsed that fight to see how well i can do. Well the result surprised me lol



i did the most DMG, most WS, most WS DMG etc, almost capped acc on JoL ftw!

BUT i clearly lost those red parts ; ;

The RNG under me is a Maats Cap guy, the RNG over me just got a Hope Torque earlier.

The WS acc is pretty ok imo, but the one thing that bothers me the most is Barrage

How the hell did the Maats Cap RNG do double DMG compared to me? his lowest barrage DMG was almost as high as my highest barrage DMG and he still managed to hit it at least with every first shot.

Is there some kind of secret for barrage DMG that i dont get? Or any way one can add more DMG to barrage and not loose acc? lol

well jol is a stupid !@#$%& to begin with on having a constant dmg it bounces alot but assuming you had atleast 2x minuet maybe a cor for chaos and hunters roll? were u all using the same food, merits, gears, /war was zerk up?

We all had pot-au-feu and 2x minuet, no COR buffs. IDK about the merits from the other 2 RNGs but we were all /SAM.

Looking at the racc from the Maat cap guy he should have missed pretty soon at barrage. Maybe he was just f***in lucky.

it wouldnt bother me too much if there was like ~500 dmg difference but almost DOUBLE DMG compared to me there has to be something wrong

Looking over these numbers I've noticed something, you fired off a hell of a lot more shots than the other 2 RNGs. Why is that? I mean yeah you can say you put up the most damage but that's because you put out more shots. As for the Maat's cap RNG, his average barrage damage slaughtered you, which either means you were missing a lot of the time or he wears better barrage gear than you.

i'll just call them RNG1 and RNG2 from now on, RNG2 being the Maats Cap.

Me and RNG2 are using Ebow and Snapshot augmented Mirkes, RNG is using Denali Body and SBow. I dont know why i was firing more shots, that confused me too.

For the Barrage gear: i loose my BFG but i change out my rajas for a behemoth ring+1 so acc stays the same for me (as you can see i had almost capped acc during the fight and 1 more racc during barrage so even closer to 95%). Cant tell you about RNG2's gear though

Several factors still unknown:

Distance of you, RNG and RNG2 towards JoL
Does RNG2 have flashy shot?
Were you, RNG or RNG2 saving Sharpshot for Barrage or did either of the 3 use them for a Sidewinder?
How much RATK in your, RNG and RNG2's barrage gear?
How many merits in archery from all three rangers?
Which arrows were the rangers using?

I sort of stopped playing, so I probably forgot a few factors here and there. But remember, Maat's cap is only one of the many, many factors: the other 19 gear slots, merits, buffs on you, debuffs on target, distance, level difference (in this case not a valid factor), RATK, STR, AGI, your race (should be calculated in the STR and AGI)

ps. I so would have kicked your ass in damage swine xD (although we never met each other in the linkshell =P)

We were all standing at the same place the whole time (except WS), i never saw RNG2 using flashy shot and it doesnt show up on parser either.

I saved Sharpshot for Barrage, not sure if RNG2 did that too.

No idea about the ratk sry :/

RNG2 has a pretty good RNG so i'm guessing he has full archery merits like me

we all were using Demons, i still use Demons for Barrage and Kaburas for WS. again i dont know about the other RNGs. Use Kaburas during Barrage would already explain some of the extra DMG in Barrage to me




PS: come back and prove it i got some nice stuff for my RNG since i joined them and now i'm hoping for barbut from SCNM ^.^b

To Seylie, I lol at that sig, its brilliant!

To ESwine, Seylie kinda beat me to it but a lot of factors there to consider, but if you all weren't receiving COR racc buff, using the same distance, same bard buffs, I would look at the barrage gear sets for your other 2 rangers and compare the racc and ratk versus yours.

i dont know where (or if) i can see how many hits connected at each barrage. i'll ask RNG2 to show me his barrage gear when i see him next time

Oh that's somewhat easy to guess really.

Your total barrage damage is 1412 spread of 5 barrages, that's 282 damage/barrage.Your average damage/hit on regular shots are 76, so: 282/76 = 3-4 hits/barrage on average

RNG2's total barrage damage is 2716 spread over 5 barrages, that's 543 damage/barrage. His average damage/hit on regular shots are 81, so: 543/81 = 6-7 hits/barrage on average.

note: all numbers above are floored

It's not exactly the perfect way to guess the average hits on damage (Angon, Flashy Shot comes in mind), but it gives you a rough idea.

I did notice how horribly low your barrage damage are compared to your normal attack damage though, mind sharing how much ranged accuracy and ranged attack do you have in your barrage gear Evilswine?
Include:
Total combat skill (200+((combat skill-200)*0.9) of both TP set and Barrage set
Total AGI and STR (2 of each equals 1 ranged accuracy and 1 ranged attack) of both TP set and Barrage set
Total stat bonus from your gear of both TP set and Barrage set

edit: I just realised, but did you parse this or some one else? There is also the possibility that you missed some of the other ranger's damage because they're out of message range of the parser.

for barrage:

73+18 AGI
+67 ratk
+69 Racc


TP-Set changes for gods though:
63+23 STR
73+13 AGI
+83 ratk
+91 racc

for barrage:
63+23 STR
73+19 AGI
+56 ratk
+58 Racc

so basically (at gods onry) i loose 11 racc and ratk for barrage but get +6 AGI from af+1 hands. for gods i use all racc i can get at barrage and ws


i did the parse myself.

maybe i've missed dmg from the other RNGs, idk. but we were all standing at the same spot and only ran in for WS so i dont really think i missed dmg from others, though still possible.
