Spells can be learned in the maze, but you have to be fairly lucky to get the right mob types....except for the Dragon rune.
With the dragon rune, I always get the dragon mobs for as at least 1 of the groups (sometimes more). And taking a lower level player along makes them quite easy to farm - though don't bring a player that's TOO low or you'll be killing the dragons too quickly for them to use Body Slam.

I don't have the Arcana or Demons rune to check if they will always spawn Clusters and Tauri, but if they do, that's another couple spells that have become easier to obtain for mid-level blue mages.

Have something to add but I don't want to double post, so I'm editing my last post:

First of all, looks like MMM is not going to be a source for Body Slam, but it is good for things like Frightful Roar, Awful Eye, and other CoP or level cap restricted mobs.

Secondly, I just did Body Slam (FINALLY 105/105) with BLU THF and WHM. One death, from overbuffing and Nullsong. Other than that, it went extremely smoothly. Easier to put together than SMNx3, too.

It does get filtered in some countries and colleges due to the server but it's otherwise up and fine.

Loona's post link is an old copy of myriads site.
I check the body slam spell for example and there is no mention of the mission in the past to learn it.

I may have found an error that is still on the up to date page though.

Since december update (or it is the one before ?) Reraise can't be dispelled.
Not by dispel, nor dispelga, nor mob moves dispelling.
I haven't tested nullsong, since then (or not enough to remember) but I think it won't remove Reraise also.
It is said in the solo strat that Reraise can be remove...

You are correct that is something that needs to be changed. I'll edit Body Slam to remove the changed status if dispelling Re-Raise next time I've got the page open.

While fighting Gargouilles trying to get Triumphant Roar last night, the Gargouilles were using a move called Dark Mist which does AoE magic damage(I am assuming dark but not 100%) + Gravity

RE:Tail Slap

Solo'd at Level 75 BLU. Nothing special in particular. Entered Arrapago Reef from the route taken from Azouph Isle Staging Point. Merrow Chantress there checked Decent Challenge and it was a pretty basic fight.

Learnt Tail Slap on first attempt.

Err it's just where to find the spells, not where to solo to level up > > Well as it is helpful, I don't want to go to promy areas to get Refuel. WOG, TOA I dont mind. Promy I can't stand. Not to mention every map has to be quested sigh.. Think I could grab refuel at 61 from a 75 cluster? maybe it will blow up? I mean doing blu/bst?

I'm starting to think you have a very weak grasp on even some of the most basic of "don't do"'s of this game. A cluster in halvung will destroy you at that level. Going to the CoP areas isn't recommended anyway really as you could be waiting days upon days for fog to show up. And then you only have a few chances to get the spell that way. The best spot to do it is in Halvung but you'll need a friend or two. You should be subbing /sch or /whm while you go so you can simply provide some support cures and keep yourself well away from self destruct range. Also be sure to watch for additional aggro. Supposedly sticking slow on them will encourage the use of refueling but I don't think this has been proven.

Since it hasn't been brought up yet: the uncapping of CoP areas mad access to another spell easier, Memento Mori, from the NM Keremetet (?) which you need to kill for a key during one of the missions. According to the wiki he's under 60, so he's about half a dozen levels lower than the Attohwa Chasm ones - I'm not sure his difficulty is too enhanced by the NM factor, but it's an option worth considering.

Apparently you can't call NPCs there for help, so it's unlikely to be able to get th spell solo at learning level, but it got simpler.

I wish I'd remembered this when people in my LS made mentions of getting that CoP mission out of the way in this past couple of days... hopefully's not too late...

Hello folks,

In the face of the Sep update the Hunting Grounds has been updated to reflect the coming 7 spells. They are in the little mini menu at the page bottom. I'll be filing in the info as fast as it comes in once the update is live.

I'm aware that the cap removal for zones and the shifting of mobs about has changed a number of options for older spells. I'll be picking away such as time allows me.

As always I appreciate all the info folks share here.
